1About these terms
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of Notinot (the “App”) on iPad and iPhone. The App is published by Rufaidah Binte Mohd Kamal, an individual developer based in Singapore (“we”, “us”).
By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Our Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information.
If you are under 18, please read these Terms with a parent or guardian.
2What the app is
Notinot is a local-first notebook app for iPad and iPhone for handwriting, typed text and lightweight diagramming. Your notebooks are ordinary files stored where you choose.
Notinot is free to download and use, with no in-app purchases.
3Licence
iPad / iPhone. If you got the App from Apple’s App Store, it is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). The Apple EULA is between you and us, not Apple; we, not Apple, are responsible for the App and its support. These Terms supplement the Apple EULA. If anything in these Terms conflicts with the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA prevails to the extent of the conflict; otherwise both apply.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own use. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the App, except where the law gives you that right regardless.
4Your notebooks and backups
- Your notebooks belong to you. Notinot has no accounts and runs no servers, so we hold no copy and cannot recover a notebook for you.
- You are responsible for backing up notebooks you care about. Deleting Notinot also deletes notebooks stored “On My iPad” or “On My iPhone”, and any OneDrive changes that have not yet been uploaded. Notebooks saved in iCloud Drive, OneDrive or another Files location stay there until you delete them.
5Cloud storage locations
- Notinot works with storage you choose: iCloud Drive, other Files providers, and optionally your own personal Microsoft OneDrive account. Those services are run by other companies under their own terms.
- When the same notebook is changed in two places, Notinot never merges the versions automatically; it keeps the other version as a “Conflicted Copy” beside the original so nothing is silently lost. Some third-party file providers may not reliably open Notinot’s notebook files; saving as PDF is supported.
6Content you import and export
- You are responsible for the content you write, scan, import or export, and for having the right to use it (for example, PDFs and images you import).
- Exports (PDF, PNG, JPEG, SVG) go through the iOS share sheet to wherever you choose. SVG export is a best-effort vector approximation, not a lossless reproduction.
7Third-party services and software
Notinot works with Apple (iCloud Drive and the App Store) and, if you connect it, Microsoft (OneDrive), using the Microsoft Authentication Library for sign-in. Those companies are responsible for their own services. Notinot also bundles third-party software (for example the Inter typeface, under the SIL Open Font License) which keeps its own license; see the notices bundled with the app. We are not responsible for services we do not run, and they can change or be unavailable.
8Ownership
The App, its design and its original content belong to us or our licensors. Your own content stays yours; we claim no rights in it. Because Notinot does not send your content to us, we do not receive a licence to it.
9Disclaimer and limits of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted operation. Notinot is designed to avoid losing work silently, but no software can guarantee that, so keep your own backups.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, for any loss or damage of any kind arising from or connected with the App or these Terms, including lost or damaged notebooks. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, special and consequential loss, and loss of data, profit, time or opportunity. The App is provided free of charge and you use it at your own risk.
You are responsible for your own decisions and for checking anything important independently, such as times, amounts or travel plans, and for keeping your own backups. We are not responsible for third-party services the App relies on (such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Land Transport Authority DataMall, your device maker, or your network), or for device settings, battery-saving modes or operating-system limits that stop the App working as you expect.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights. If any part of this section is found to be unenforceable, it applies to the maximum extent the law permits and the rest remains in force.
10Ending your use
You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may stop offering or supporting the App, or update or change it, at any time. Sections on ownership, disclaimers and liability continue to apply after you stop.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms, for example when the App gains new features. We will post the updated Terms on this page and change the effective date. If you keep using the App after an update, you accept the revised Terms.
12Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute about them or the App between you and us, are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not take away any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live, including any right to bring a claim in your local courts.
