Which platform is this?

This policy covers the SimplyResolve iPhone app. For the Android app, see the Android privacy policy and Google Play Data Safety summary.

  • No accounts. No sign-up, email or password.
  • No analytics. No analytics, telemetry or crash-reporting code.
  • No ads or tracking. Nothing is sold, shared or used to profile you.

1About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SimplyResolve (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the app and its Home Screen widget on iPhone. The app is provided by its independent developer, who can be reached using the details in section 12.

By using SimplyResolve, you acknowledge that you have read this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the app.

2What we collect

We do not collect any personal data.

SimplyResolve does not have servers, user accounts, analytics, advertising, or third-party SDKs. It does not send data you create in the app over the network. As a result, we do not collect, receive, store, or process your personal information, and we cannot see anything you enter.

This is consistent with the app's App Store privacy label, “Data Not Collected”.

3Data stored on your device

To work, SimplyResolve saves the information you enter locally on your iPhone, in the app's private storage. This includes:

TypeExamples
GoalsYour vision, target date, category, priority, success condition, “why”, and optional planning note
ActivitiesTitle, metric, frequency, start date, and counter setting
Daily recordsWhether an activity was done or skipped on a date, completion time, counter value, and optional note
SettingsApp preferences, haptics on/off, reminder settings and daily summary settings

The Home Screen widget reads this same data from a storage area shared only between SimplyResolve and its widget on your device, so it can show today's activities. The widget does not connect to the internet.

The app does not exclude its data from device backups, so if you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, Apple's backup system is likely to include this data. Backups are controlled by you and handled under Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us.

4Notifications

If you turn on reminders or the daily summary, SimplyResolve asks for permission to send notifications. Both are scheduled and delivered on your device, with no server involved. Activity reminders show an activity's title and are marked time-sensitive. The optional daily summary, sent at the hour you choose, says how many activities are left today (for example “3 activities left today”). Either can appear on your Lock Screen, depending on your iOS settings.

You can turn notifications on or off at any time in Settings › Notifications › SimplyResolve. The app works without this permission.

The app can give light haptic feedback (vibration) during some actions, such as swiping through today’s activities. This is generated on your device only, and you can turn it off with the Haptics switch in Settings.

SimplyResolve does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data, or any other personal data on your device.

5Crash reports

SimplyResolve does not include any crash-reporting tools. If you turn on Share With App Developers in iOS (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics under Apple's own privacy policy. These reports do not identify you. We use them only to fix bugs, and you can turn this setting off at any time.

6Tracking and third parties

SimplyResolve does not show ads and does not track you, as “tracking” is defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose personal information to anyone, and we do not profile you or make automated decisions about you.

The app is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple may collect information about your download and use of the App Store under its own terms and Privacy Policy. We do not control Apple's practices.

7Retention and deletion

We do not hold any of your data, so there is nothing for us to keep or delete. Your data stays on your device until you delete it:

  • Delete individual goals and activities within the app.
  • Deleting SimplyResolve from your iPhone permanently removes all of its data from the device, including widget data.
  • Data in existing device backups is removed according to your iCloud or computer backup settings.

8Security

Your data is protected by the security built into iOS, including app sandboxing and on-device data protection encryption when your iPhone is locked with a passcode. Because the app does not send your data over the network, it is not exposed in transit and is not stored on our systems. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a device passcode and keep iOS up to date.

9Children

SimplyResolve is a general productivity app. It is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 or the equivalent minimum age in their country. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights over your personal data. These can include the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to how it is used. Examples include the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

Because we do not collect or hold personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete. You can view, change, and delete your data directly in the app. We will still respond to any privacy request within a reasonable time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example if new features change how data is handled. If we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will announce it in the app or in the App Store release notes before it takes effect. If you continue to use SimplyResolve after an update, you accept the revised policy.
