2About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SimplyResolve for Android (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the app and its Home Screen widget on an Android phone. The app is provided by its independent developer, who can be reached using the details in the Contact section. The SimplyResolve app for iPhone has its own policy here.

By using SimplyResolve, you acknowledge that you have read this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the app.

3What we collect

We do not collect any personal data.

SimplyResolve does not have servers, user accounts, analytics, advertising, or third-party data-collection SDKs. It does not request network access, so it cannot send data you create in the app over the internet. As a result, we do not collect, receive, store, or process your personal information, and we cannot see anything you enter.

4Data stored on your device

To work, SimplyResolve saves the information you enter locally on your phone, in the app’s private storage. This includes:

TypeExamples
GoalsYour vision, target date, category, priority, success condition, “why”, and optional planning note
ActivitiesTitle, metric, frequency, start date, and counter setting
Daily recordsWhether an activity was done or skipped on a date, completion time, counter value, and optional note
SettingsReminder on/off and time, haptics, and which day your week starts

The Home Screen widget runs inside the app on your phone to show today’s activities. It does not connect to the internet.

5Backups

Android’s Auto Backup is left on for this app. If you have Google backup turned on for your device, the app’s data may be backed up to your own Google Account and restored or transferred when you set up a new phone. Those backups are controlled by you and handled under Google’s Privacy Policy, not by us. You can turn this off in your device’s Settings > Google > Backup.

6Permissions and notifications

SimplyResolve asks for the following only when you turn on reminders (never at first launch). The app works without them.

PermissionWhat it is for
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)To show activity reminders and the daily digest. Reminders are scheduled and delivered on your phone and may include an activity’s title; they can appear on your lock screen depending on your settings.
Exact alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM)To deliver reminders at the time you set. You can revoke this in Android Settings.
Run at start-up (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)Android clears scheduled alarms when the phone restarts; this lets the app re-arm your reminders.

SimplyResolve does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data, or any other personal data on your device.

7Tracking and third parties

SimplyResolve does not show ads and does not track you. We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose personal information to anyone, and we do not profile you or make automated decisions about you.

The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect information about your download and use of Google Play, and diagnostics you choose to share, under its own terms and Privacy Policy. We do not control Google’s practices.

8Retention and deletion

We do not hold any of your data, so there is nothing for us to keep or delete. Your data stays on your phone until you delete it:

  • Delete individual goals and activities within the app.
  • Uninstalling SimplyResolve (or clearing its storage in Android Settings) removes all of its data from the device, including widget data.
  • Data in existing Google backups is removed according to your Google backup settings.

9Security

Your data is protected by the security built into Android, including app sandboxing and device encryption when your phone is locked with a screen lock. Because the app does not request network access, your data is not exposed in transit by the app and is not stored on our systems. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a screen lock and keep Android up to date.

10Children

SimplyResolve is a general productivity app. It is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 or the equivalent minimum age in their country. Because the app does not send anything to us, we do not receive personal information from children through it.

11Your rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights over your personal data. These can include the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to how it is used. Because we do not collect or hold personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete. You can view, change, and delete your data directly in the app. We will still respond to any privacy request within a reasonable time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
