This policy covers the Solat Plant iPhone app. For the Android app, see the Android privacy policy and Google Play Data Safety summary.
The short version
- Solat Plant works entirely on your device. There is no account, no sign-in and no server.
- Your location, prayer logs, settings and plant are stored only on your iPhone. We do not receive them. The one exception is a place-name lookup that Apple performs when you set your location (see Permissions).
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs that send data anywhere.
- Deleting the app deletes its data from your iPhone.
About this policy
This policy explains how the Solat Plant app for iPhone (the "App") handles information. The App is published by an independent developer ("we", "us"). It applies to the App only, not to websites or services run by others, including Apple.
By using the App, you agree to the handling of information described here.
Information the app handles
To calculate prayer times and grow your plant, the App uses the following information. It is created, processed and stored on your device and is not sent to us. The only information that leaves your device is described under Location in the Permissions section.

Because we do not receive this information, we do not "collect" it within the meaning of Apple's App Store privacy disclosures or data protection laws such as Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
Where your data is stored
All App data is stored in the App's private storage on your iPhone, protected by iOS data protection. Home Screen widgets read the same data on your device to show prayer times and let you mark a prayer as prayed.
The App has no cloud sync. If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, App data may be included in that backup. Backups are managed by Apple or by you, not by us.
Permissions
Location
The App asks for location access only while you're using it, and only to calculate prayer times. It reads your location once when you set it up, and again each time you tap “Update location” in Settings. It does not track your location in the background, and the stored location is not updated automatically when you travel. The App works with either precise or approximate location. The coordinates are stored on your device and are not sent to us.
When you set or update your location, the App asks Apple’s geocoding service (through the iOS CLGeocoder) to turn the coordinates into a place name and country code. This means the coordinates are sent to Apple for that lookup, under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not run this service and do not receive the result. You can change location permission at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. If you turn location off, you can't set or update your location, and prayer times stay based on the last location saved.
Notifications
Prayer reminders are local notifications, scheduled and delivered by iOS on your device. We do not use push notification servers. You can turn reminders off in the App or in iOS Settings > Notifications.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account or collect your name, email address or contact details through the App.
- We don't use analytics, crash-reporting or advertising tools that send data from the App.
- We don't track you across apps or websites, and we don't use your data for advertising.
- We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with anyone other than Apple’s location services as described above.
Services provided by Apple
Your use of the App relies on services from Apple, such as the App Store, iOS location services (including the place-name lookup described above) and notifications. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous crash and usage information. These services are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not this one.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your device until you remove it. To delete all App data, delete Solat Plant from your iPhone. This permanently removes your prayer history, settings and plant from the device. Copies in a device backup you made earlier are not removed by deleting the App.
We have no copy of your data, so we cannot recover it for you after deletion, and we cannot view, correct or delete it on your behalf.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because the App does not transmit information to us, no personal information from a child is received by us through the App.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data. As all App data stays on your device and under your control, you can exercise these rights directly: view and change your records in the App, change permissions in iOS Settings, or delete the App to erase everything. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the App gains new features. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the "last updated" date above. If a change means data would leave your device, we will explain it in the App before it takes effect.
